A shopping mall in North Carolina was placed on lockdown Saturday afternoon following multiple social media reports that a shooting was ongoing.
Officials at Crabtree Valley Mall provided no reason for the lockdown of the facility, but Raleigh police have confirmed an active shooter situation and are working to secure the facility according to local WRAL news.
Police were called to the mall at about 2:45pm. They say nobody has been allowed to enter or exit the mall. No suspects are to reported to have been arrested.
A video posted on Twitter by an eyewitness shows panic and horror in the mall as people rush out of a store taken hold by the gunmen.
It has been reported that police have entered the mall and are helping people to evacuate the facility while searching for the gunmen.

Although initial eyewitness accounts indicated that at least one customer was shot by the gunmen, statements from the police suggest that no injured shoppers have been identified nor has the shooter.
