RIO DE JANEIRO (Sputnik) — Russia won gold in female’s team sabre fencing at the Rio Olympics on Saturday, thus the total number of Russian gold medals at the Games now stands at six.
Russia’s Sofya Velikaya, Yana Egorian and Yuliya Gavrilova beat Ukrainian team with a score of 45:30.
The United States took bronze, winning against Italy’s team with a score of 45:30.
The 2016 Summer Olympic Games are being held in Brazil’s Rio de Janeiro from August 5 until August 21. Brazil is the first South American country to host the competition.
