MOSCOW (Sputnik) — A man accused of attacking passengers and subsequently killing one woman on a train in Swiss canton of St. Gallen has died, local police said in a statement on Sunday.
On Saturday, a 27-year old perpetrator used a knife and set a flammable liquid on fire on the arriving train, injuring five people, while one other person was wounded making the burning attacker get off the vehicle.
"In the course of the day, the accused 27-year-old Swiss has died of his injuries," the St. Gallen police’s statement reads.
Local police also announced that one of the victims of the attack, a 34-year old woman, also died of wounds after being hospitalized.
According to the Swiss law enforcement, the Swiss national acted alone and there was no indication of him having links to terrorist groups.
