MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to the Yonhap news agency, the incident took place on Tuesday at the base in Jinhae, South Gyeongsang province in the southeast of the country at 8:30 a.m. local time (23:30 GMT on Monday).
According to preliminary data, the incident took place during the maintenance works at the submarine.
The one person missing is believed to have been thrown overboard by the explosion.
