New York City’s John F. Kennedy International Airport is experiencing flight delays due to power outage, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey said in a statement.

NEW YORK (Sputnik) — Moreover, additional flight disruptions are taking place due to severe weather in the area moving through the area, the Port Authority added.

"Due to a Terminal 8 power outage at John F. Kennedy International Airport, escalators and elevators are currently out of service. Additionally, the screening of checked bags may be delayed," PANYNJ said Tuesday.

The Port Authority did not mention a potential cause of the power outage.
