MOSCOW (Sputnik) — His remarks followed the assassination of the ruling Justice and Development Party’s (AKP) youth branch leader Naci Adiyaman by PKK militants and a powerful bomb blast in Turkey’s southeastern Diyarbakir province claiming six lives. Both incidents took place in the past eight days.
"The PKK and its armed wings have shed blood once more. … Our duty is to eliminate this issue and remove the bloody-handed terror organization from between us and resolve the region's issues with the people of the region," Yildirim was quoted by Daily Sabah newspaper as saying, as he held a weekly meeting with his party fellows in Parliament.
According to the Turkish prime minister, the PKK does not represent the Kurdish people and is merely a terror group.
The PKK is a Kurdish pro-independence organization with militarized wings which is considered to be a terrorist group by Ankara.
