MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The report, which allegedly includes analysis of current children’s Jungle accommodation, calls for more safe shelter to be provided urgently, saying that, unless something is done in the near future, many of the 608 children reportedly living in the camp could disappear.
"The complete lack of child protection measures or any form of safeguarding in other informal camps or on the road to their next destination highlights the danger these young people are forced to put themselves in due to lack of feasible options," the report by Refugee Youth Service (RYS) said, as quoted by The Guardian newspaper.
Last month, Francois Guennoc, the vice president of local charity L’Auberge des Migrants, told Sputnik that the number of migrants in the Calais refugee camp was expected to rise to 10,000 by September.
