"Article one of the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) specifically prohibits the transfer of nuclear weapons to non-nuclear-weapon states," Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament Secretary-General Kate Hudson stated.
Earlier on Thursday, the Brussels-based EurActiv online news outlet cited sources as saying that the United States was getting ready to relocate the warheads from Turkey to Romania.
The move was explained as stemming from increasingly tense US-Turkey relations following the failed July 15 coup attempt to oust Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The Romanian Foreign Ministry has denied the media reports.
