He said that, contrary to hard facts, Polish media keep denying Ukraine’s recent subversive actions in Crimea and its continued violations of the ceasefire in Lugansk and Donetsk, even though German, British and some US media say that, if not for the sense of responsibility and patience displayed by President Vladimir Putin, the region would have been plunged into a major conflict.
“They keep telling us that war is imminent and I think that some of our leaders just can’t wait to die as heroes, unfortunately in the company of all the rest of us, innocent Polish citizens,” Konrad noted.
During a recent televised appearance Polish Defense Minister Antoni Macierewicz said that with the “threat from the east now rising fast, we must be ready.”
“As we know from history, when a country lives in an atmosphere of constant hysteria being pumped up, it means that this is done to draw people’s attention away from real problems. The Polish government has not been very successful in its economic policy and has failed to live up to the promises the law and Justice party made while on the stump,” Konrad Rękas said.
“This government is unable to deal with the day-to-day business of running the country, that’s why they are looking for some outside enemy and telling people to forget about their inability to govern because ‘war is imminent and we are the only people who will defend you,’” Konrad added.
“All their ‘patriotism’ is just for show, an attempt to whip up hysteria and draw people’s attention away from their blunders and incompetence.”
“If only allowed by their American and Western patrons, this team will be ready to escalate this conflict even further. Instead of preserving the status-quo on the Polish-Russian border they closed this narrow transit corridor in Kaliningrad region ignoring the obvious interests of people living in northwestern Poland and of the Polish economy as a whole. Ideology prevailed!”
“Our Defense Minister is talking about some ‘terrorist threat’, but I don’t think that even our stupid propagandists believe that all of the world’s terrorists actually live near Kaliningrad,” Konrad Rękas said in conclusion.
