WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Differences in outlook notwithstanding, numerous voters remain skeptical that either candidate would make a good president, according to the survey.
"Supporters of Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump disagree on a range of policy issues, from terrorism to free trade. Yet, they also have more fundamental differences over long-term changes in the country and the next generation’s future prospects," a Thursday press release explaining the poll said.
Most Clinton supporters take the opposite view, with 59 percent saying life for people like them has gotten better over the past half-century, the poll revealed.
Looking toward the future, the survey found that 68 percent of Trump supporters say life for the next generation will be worse than today, despite their candidate’s pledge to "make America great again."
In contrast, about a third of Clinton supporters expect life to deteriorate for today’s children, the survey noted.
