WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Between mid-2015 and February 2016, Twitter suspended 125,000 accounts in connection with violent threats or the promotion of terrorism.
"[W]e have suspended an additional 235,000 accounts for violating our policies related to promotion of terrorism in the six months since our February 2016 post," the company said in a blog post. "This brings our overall number of suspensions to 360,000 since the middle of 2015."
As of July, Twitter traffic from accounts associated with the Daesh terror group has decreased by more than 45 percent in two years, according to the US-UAE-run Sawab Center.
Twitter noted on Thursday that it assists law enforcement investigations to prevent and prosecute terror attacks and has attended counter-extremist summits held by the French and Indonesian governments.
