UNITED NATIONS (Sputnik) – Haq told reporters at a daily briefing the details of the pause would have to be worked out at a later time.

UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mitura called for the establishment of the two-day pause in fighting earlier in the day to allow UN convoys access into the city.

The Russian Defense Ministry later said it was ready to support de Mistura's proposal and ensure the safe passage of UN convoys in coordination with the Syrian government. Haq said the UN was informed of Moscow's readiness to support the envoy's initiative.
