CRIMEA (Sputnik) — At a meeting with Crimean Prime Minister Sergei Aksenov and Acting Governor of Sevastopol Dmitry Ovsyannikov during the Tavrida international youth forum, Vladimir Putin said:
"The first thing that needs to be done is to systematically work on increasing the incomes of Crimea and Sevastopol's residents… We are all experienced people and we understand that the resolution of all other issues depends on this, including the social issues, housing and municipal issues, matters of pre-school institutions, as well as schools and hospitals."
Putin recalled that Russia had adopted a "federal target program for the development of Crimea and Sevastopol," and noted the necessity to complete all the activities planned in Crimea "on time, and with due quality."
Crimea reunified with Russia after almost 97 percent of those who voted in a local referendum on the issue in 2014 supported the move. Ukraine did not recognize the outcome of the referendum.
