"Since the beginning of 2016, the loss of €750 million of turnover for Parisian tourism professionals and residents of the Ile-de-France [has been registered]", the committee said in a report.
As stated in the report, Paris and Ile-de-France region saw one million fewer tourists in the first quarter of 2016 compared to the same period in 2015. Other than terror attacks, the report names constant protests and floods as the main reasons for keeping tourists away.
"An unprecedented drop in visitor numbers since 2010, which has worrying economic consequences for Paris and Ile-de-France", the committee said.
France suffered from a series of coordinated terrorist attacks in Paris in November 2015, in which 130 people were killed, and a terrorist attack in Nice in 2016, which claimed the lives of 84 people. In July, another attack took place on the French soil, with a priest being killed at a church in Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray, Normandy.
