Hillary Clinton
Earlier in August it was reported that Leonardo DiCaprio was set to host this Tuesday fundraiser for Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton at his Hollywood Hills home.
However, recently the 2016 Oscar winner has dropped out.
The $33,400-per-guest event, part of a series of late-August fundraisers for Clinton in Los Angeles, will now be held at the nearby residence of Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel.
Another well-known and world famous actress Meryl Streep recently praised the Democratic presidential nominee.
She compared her to a number of other women who were the firsts in other spheres, like Sandra Day O’Connor, the first female Supreme Court justice, and Geraldine Ferrero, the first female vice presidential candidate representing a major American political party.
“These women share something in common – capacity of mind, fullness of heart and a burning passion for their cause,” Streep said.
The acting legend Robert De Niro joined the chorus.
“I think that she's paid her dues,” the veteran actor has said of Clinton. “She has earned the right to be president and the head of the country at this point. It's that simple.”
“And she’s a woman, which is very important because her take on things may be what we need right now.”
Elton John also publicly voiced his support.
The veteran rock star also performed at the Radio City Music Hall event, joining Grammy nominee Andra Day. He dedicated his last song, Still Standing, to Clinton.
Steven Spielberg reportedly donated $1 million to help Clinton get elected as did another Hollywood mogul Thomas Tull, according to Forbes.
Trump is Their Candidate
Among the supporters of Republican presidential nominee is American former professional boxer Mike Tyson, who announced in an interview with Huffington Post that Trump has his backing.
“He should be president of the United States… Let's try something new. Let's run America like a business, where no colors matter. Whoever can do the job, gets the job,” Tyson said.
Country singer Loretta Lynn thinks that Trump would “hit a high note” as the president of this country.
“I just think he's the only one who's going to turn this country around,” she told reporters.
Lou Ferrigno, best known for his title role in the CBS television series The Incredible Hulk, told TMZ in an interview “I wish Donald the best. He's a fabulous guy. I hope he goes all the way.”
Stephen Baldwin, the youngest in the Baldwin acting dynasty after Alec, Daniel and Billy, gave his official support to Donald Trump on CNN.
“I think he's fantastic. I love him. I think he'd make a great president,” Baldwin said.
“He's not a politician, and he doesn't care what anybody thinks. And that's why he's surging in the polls. He says what he thinks.”
However the most expressive comment came from musician Kid Rock.
He was so impressed with Trump’s business life, according to an interview with Rolling Stone.
“Let the motherf------ business guy run it like a f------ business,” said the rock musician, adding,“His campaign has been entertaining as s---.”
