Russia has appealed the ruling by the Lausanne-based Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to ban Russian Paralympians from Rio Paralympics in the Swiss Federal Supreme Court, a senior member of the Russian Paralympic Committee said Friday.

Russian Paralympians Ask IPC Head to Review Individual Entry Requests for Games

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — On Tuesday, CAS upheld the International Paralympic Committee’s (IPC) August 7 ruling to suspend Russian Paralympians from the upcoming Summer Paralympic Games in Rio, thus dismissing Russia’s August 15 appeal.

"Our lawyers are attempting to suspend the CAS ruling through a decision by a higher court — the Swiss Federal Supreme Court," Mikhail Terentyev told R-Sport news agency in a phone call.

"The appeal has been officially submitted and will be reviewed by the court on Monday," Terentyev said.
