MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The head of Boeing's Commercial Aviation Services in Russia, Kamil Gaynutdinov, will replace Ilya Tarasenko as the president of the Russian Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company (SCAC), media reported Monday, citing a government source.
According to the Kommersant newspaper, the move comes as Tarasenko is set to become the head of the Russian Aircraft Corporation MiG.
As part of his role at SCAC, Gaynutdinov will have to build an after-sales service system for Russia’s Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100) medium-haul aircraft, the paper noted.
Gaynutdinov has been working as the head of the Commercial Aviation Services division at Boeing Commercial Airplanes in Russia and the CIS since 2005. Previously, he had worked at the Utair Aviation airline company, being the one responsible for all contracts on helicopter transportation abroad.
The Superjet 100 is a twin-engine regional passenger airliner, completing its maiden flight in 2008 and commercially purchased first in 2011.
