The Riyadh Erie court has accused a Saudi man of belonging to the Daesh terrorist group.
The court provided evidence of the man attending military training in clandestine centers, in which men are trained as soldiers and are prepared to take part in terrorist attacks.
According to Saudi media, the local man passed his military training and planned to join the ranks of Daesh in Afghanistan.
In his defense, man told the court that he entered the “military fitness” program as a kind of fat-camp.
Questioned why he decided to use recruitment training offered by a global terrorist organization, the man failed to provide a clear answer.
Several Saudis have earlier been convicted at the Riyadh Erie court hearings after they were caught trying to leave the country to engage in terrorist activities. According to Saudi media reports, the fate of the accused will not be publically released.
