WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Rasmussen’s latest weekly poll shows Trump with 40 percent support to Clinton’s 39 percent among Likely US Voters, a press release explaining the poll said.
"Clinton's support has been trending down from a high of 44 percent in early August just after the Democratic National Convention," the release explained.
Trump’s support has also declined, as the two candidates were tied at the beginning of August, the release noted.
The website Real Clear Politics shows that of seven national polls in the past two days, Rasmussen is alone in reporting a Trump lead.
In its release, Rasmussen cautioned that a single point edge is statistically insignificant, meaning the two candidates are in a virtual tie.
