With the removal of materials that could be used to make chemical weapons from Libya, the country’s Government of National Accord is working toward fulfilling its obligations under the Chemical Weapons Convention, White House National Security Council spokesperson Ned Price said in a statement.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Earlier this week, the last materials were loaded on a Danish ship to be transported to Germany for destruction.

"The removal was completed at the request of the Libyan Government of National Accord… to make responsible progress toward fulfilling Libya's obligations under the Chemical Weapons Convention," Price stated on Thursday.
