VLADIVOSTOK (Sputnik) — Russia and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) could cooperate on cybersecurity, Ilya Rogachev, the Russian Foreign Ministry’s director of new challenges and threats department, said on Thursday.
"We believe that we could take a thought together on how to improve the situation in this field," Rogachev said, as he spoke at the Russia-ASEAN University Forum held ahead of the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok.
The Russia diplomat said that Moscow was interested in new researches in cybersecurity.
The 2016 Eastern Economic Forum is set to kick off in Vladivostok on Friday and to last through Saturday. The forum is expected to attract some 2,500 participants, including those from China, Japan, South Korea, India, Vietnam, Australia, the United States and Singapore.
