WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Scott noted that the hurricane is expected to hit the Gulf Coast of Florida around 2:00 a.m. (6:00 a.m. GMT) local time on Friday.
"As soon as this happens, we’ll do very aggressive mosquito abatement around the state, but also you need to get rid of all the standing water around your house… at your business… anyplace you see," Scott stated.
The storm is expected to bring nearly two dozen inches of rain and a storm surge of up to 12 feet in some areas, Scott noted.
