"The Sochi summit has given a strong impetus to build multi-faceted dialogue with ASEAN. For the first time in history, the ten leaders gathered on the Russian territory, we see this as recognition of the constructive role of Russia in the affairs of the Asia-Pacific region, in ensuring its security, stability and economic development," Lavrov’s statement said, as read out by Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov.
According to the statement, the cooperation with ASEAN “has been firmly entrenched among the key foreign policy priorities" of Russia.
