MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The European Union is considering providing financial and energy assistance to the Ukrainian population, EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini said on Friday.
"We also explored possibilities for increasing our support on the ground, short-term, with actions that could include financial and technical support to activities to improve the living conditions of the population, especially in the energy sector," Mogherini said after an EU foreign minister's meeting in Bratislava.
She added that the ministers have resolved to show increased support to the current formats of negotiations on settling the conflict in eastern Ukraine.
"We will continue to talk about this publicly and privately, both with our Ukrainian friends and the Russian counterparts as the European Union and members states," she said.
