RUSSKY ISLAND (Sputnik) — Japanese investors are welcome to acquire Russia's largest hydropower producer RusHydro capital assets, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Friday.
"As for RusHydro, the work is going on. We believe we know how to settle financial matters connected with RusHydro. If Japanese partners and friends intend to acquire capital assets, they are welcome. We see no political restrictions," Putin said, as he met with investors at the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF).
The EEF kicked off earlier in the day on Russky Island off Russia's eastern city of Vladivostok. The forum, which is due to run through Saturday, is expected to attract some 2,500 participants, from countries including China, Japan, South Korea, India, Vietnam, Australia, the United States and Singapore.
