MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Talks on Syria are "very difficult" but "gradually heading in the right direction," according to the president.
"I don't rule out that we’ll be able to agree on something in the near future and present our agreements to the international community," Putin told Bloomberg in an interview. Moscow is also working with Ankara on aligning interests, he said.
"One of the key problems is that we insist, and our US partners are not opposed to this, that the so-called healthy part of the opposition should be separated from the radical groups and terrorist organizations," he said.
Putin also praised the efforts of US Secretary of State John Kerry, stating that he has carried out a tremendous amount of work to help make an agreement possible.
