VLADIVOSTOK (Sputnik) — Seoul and Moscow intend to strengthen "strategic dialogue" on the issue of North Korean nuclear program, South Korean President Park Geun-hye said on Saturday following talks with Russian leader Vladimir Putin at the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF).
"It is very important to resolve the North Korean nuclear issue, which is the greatest threat to security in the region, as soon as possible. Together with President Putin we agreed to further strengthen our strategic dialogue in resolving the North Korean nuclear and other issues," she said.
"Along with the threat of further nuclear tests, North Korea claims to conduct a preventive attack. For us it is a deadly threat because of the fact that we live within the range of missiles from North Korea, the likelihood of a conflict is increasing day by day. They [North Korea] improve their technology development of ballistic missile launches," the South Korean president added.
