MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The quake struck at about 2:38 GMT on Sunday, with its epicenter lying at a depth of about 12.4 kilometers (7.7 miles), eight kilometers south-west of the Lapinigan settlement, the USGS said.

There have been no immediate reports of damages or casualties.
The Philippines, which is part of the so-called Pacific Ring of Fire, where earthquakes and eruptions are frequent due to intense seismic activity.
