The Russian president said Moscow and Beijing were "on the right track" concerning bilateral trade.

HANGZHOU (China), (Sputnik) — Russia and China have many things to do to optimize bilateral turnover, but the two states are "on the right track," Russian President Vladimir Putin said Sunday.

"The share of commodity items as machinery and hardware, such important for us, are growing in a total volume of our export. We are grateful to you for the attention paid to it by Chinese leadership. It dignifies our export and mutual turnover, " Putin said at the meeting with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping, adding that the sides should do much to optimize the turnover, but the sides were "on the right track."

He added that mutual cooperation between Moscow and Beijing was developing successfully, despite certain challenges caused by the problems of global economy.
