MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Two militants were eliminated in a special operation in Dagestan, Russia's National Antiterrorism Committee said Monday.
"Two militants were killed, their identities have been established. Both were members of a gang carrying out terrorist crimes," the Committee said in a statement. One serviceman was killed in the operation and two sustained injuries.
Dagestan is best known internationally as the area where the infamous Tsarnaev brothers, two terrorists who were found responsible of the April, 2013 bombing of the Boston marathon, are from.
