KUBINKA (Moscow Region) (Sputnik) – The Republic of Mali wants to sign contracts on the purchase of Russian weapons, including tanks and aircraft, the Malian Ministry of Defense and Veterans Affairs’s cabinet chief told Sputnik on Tuesday.
“We in Mali are interested in receiving Russian weapons… We want to specifically purchase infantry weapons and air force weapons,” General Dembele Adama said at the Army-2016 international military and technical forum.
He noted that the West African nation wanted to sign a new contract on the purchase of tanks and air force technology, including aircraft, in addition to the existing arms procurement contract between Mali and Russia.
