ANKARA (Sputnik) — According to the poll conducted by Turkish-based MAK Research Company, as cited by the Yeni Safak newspaper, 71 percent of those surveyed support President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and intend to vote for him in the next elections.
As many as 72 percent of respondents consider the government's crackdown on the movement of US-based Islamic cleric Fethullah Gulen after the July 15 coup to have been successful.
Seventy-eight percent of respondents support the government's operation Euphrates Shield in Syria, which Ankara began in late August, according to the poll.
About 2,700 people participated in the survey.
