“I am going to convene my top generals and give them a simple instruction: They will have thirty days to submit to the Oval Office a plan for soundly and quickly defeating ISIS [Daesh],” Trump told a rally in Greenville, North Carolina on Tuesday. “We have no choice.”
Earlier in the day, 88 US generals and admirals endorsed Trump for the US presidency over his opponent, Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.
Trump praised his military supporters as veteran warriors and combat veterans.
“These are the warriors, not the political hacks who endorsed Hillary Clinton a few two or three weeks ago,” Trump said.
Trump also said that, if elected, he would call on US Congress to remove the automatic sequester system put into law under current President Barack Obama that mandates automatic spending cuts on the US armed forces.
