ALMATY (Sputnik) – Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Karim Massimov is expected to resign from his post on Friday, a source in the Kazakh government told RIA Novosti on Thursday.
"An extended government meeting is scheduled for Friday, which will be held with the participation of the government head. It is expected that at its conclusion, Prime Minister Karim Massimov will leave his post," the source said.
Massimov, 51, has served as Kazakhstan’s prime minister since April 2014. Before that, he was in the same post from January 2007 until September 2012.
Between September 2012 and April 2014 Massimov was in the position of chief of staff of the presidential office.
Prior to 2007, Karim Massimov served as Deputy Prime Minister.
