MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The Russian Olympic Committee’s anti-doping commission is tasked with elaboration and introduction of a national plan to eradicate doping issues, commission head Vitaly Smirnov said Thursday.
"Our commission has been convened to gain insight and elaborate steps to eradicate this issue. The main aim of the commission is elaboration and introduction of a national plan to counter doping in our country, as well as proposing to the international sporting community a single and transparent anti-doping system," Smirnov said during a meeting of the commission.
According to the official, the International Olympic Committee and the World Anti-Doping Agency recognize the commission’s legitimacy and pledge their active support to it.
