EU Budget Woes or How Much Brexit Will End Up Costing Europe
MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The United kingdom may give privileges to high-skilled migrants after the country’s leaving the European Union, UK Chancellor of the Exchequer Philip Hammond said on Thursday.

"I would expect, due to the control that we would have over movement of people, we would use it in a sensible way that would certainly facilitate the movement of highly skilled people between financial institutions and businesses in order to support investment in the UK economy – that would certainly be my expectation," Hammond said, as quoted by The Independent.

On June 23, the nationwide referendum on EU membership was held in the United Kingdom, in which 51.9 percent of voters supported the country leaving the bloc. Brexit supporters have used the migration issue as one of the main arguments to persuade people to vote for leaving the European bloc.
