MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Two Russian Buyan-class corvettes of the Caspian Flotilla have successfully completed training with the Kalibr cruise missiles as part of the Kavkaz-2016 drills, the Russian Defense Ministry informs.
"In the course of the strategic command and staff exercises ‘Kavkaz-2016’ a naval strike group of the Caspian Flotilla composed of small missile ships 'Grad Sviyazhsk' and 'Uglich' successfully completed a training and combat mission to defeat critically important facilities and vessel groups of the simulated enemy using the Kalibr high-precision missile weapons complex," the ministry said on Friday.
The Strategic Kavkaz-2016 drills kicked off in Russia on Monday and will last until September 10.
