MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Turkish efforts to create a safe zone in Syria will continue until the Turkish border is safe and all threats to the country are removed, Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim said on Friday.
"Our efforts to set up a safe zone in Syria will continue until the Turkish border’s safety is maintained and threats against Turkey are eliminated," Yildirim told journalists in Ankara, as quoted by the Hurriyet Daily news.
Turkey launched a military operation dubbed Euphrates Shield into northern Syria last month in an effort to clear the city of Jarablus on the border with Turkey from Islamic State (Daesh) fighters.
