Photographs from Kabul, Kandahar and Kunduz provinces were in the center of the exposition.
Day by day, the number of the Afghan war victims increases. Someone loses a life, others become permanently disabled. Politicians speak about the need to stop the fighting and establish peace in the country, but they are guided by strategy and assessing the geopolitical situation, Hadi Muarefat, one of the exhibition organizers, believes.
"Those who are not immersed in the Afghan war often know about it only from the words of the slogans that are pronounced from high podiums, but not from the inside. You can estimate the prospects of the victims only when you see them," Muarefat told Sputnik.
"Those who saw these photos will realize that peace is not a political deal and not an agreement between individuals, but something much more important and global. We expect that the Afghan government will hear the message of peace, which is delivered from each of these pictures," he continued.
The "scars of war" are not only physical injuries, but the broken lives of hundreds of Afghan civilians, Muarefat explained:
"It is something impossible to erase from your memory, something impossible to accept, and something oppressing. The people in these pictures are the ones who did not want to take these terrible thoughts to their graves, and decided to share them in the name of peace."
"In my opinion, the exhibited photographs reflect the war in all its frightening fullness," the organizer of the event concluded.
