MOSCOW, September 12 – According to Rosneft, on August 30 it received an exploration license allowing it to prospect for and assess mineral resources within the Surgutsky-5 block in the Nefteyugansk Region of Yugra until August 29, 2021.
Rosneft's exploration and production license within the Salymsky block in the Nefteyugansk Region was also extended on August 3, 2016.
It is the second time that Rosneft’s license for oil and gas exploration and production in the Salymsky block has been extended. Issued on November 20, 2006 until March 29, 2014, the license was extended in 2013 until December 31, 2016.
As of August 2013, the block’s proven reserves were estimated at 17.85 million metric tons.
