MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russia will submit a letter to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) later on Monday explaining how the debt talks with Ukraine are going, Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said.
"All attempts to negotiate from the Russian side, all attempts to conduct any negotiations, both at the ministerial level and at the advisers level…they were conducted then only to observe formalities…Today, we will send all these thoughts to the [IMF] Managing Director, Mrs [Christine] Lagarde," Siluanov told journalists.
High Court of Justice in London is going to hear the case of Ukrainian $3 billion debt to Russia on January 17 – 20. Moscow filed a lawsuit against Ukraine in the London High Court in February after Kiev defaulted on repayment of a $3-billion loan that Russia granted to Ukraine in 2013 under the former Ukrainian president Viktor Yanukovych.
