MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Approaching the second year anniversary of UK military operations against Daesh, Fallon extended tribute to all men and women of the service who as he said " work tirelessly to defeat Daesh and keep Britain safe".
"The Campaign against Daesh is making steady progress, with coalition support, Iraqi forces have freed Fallujah and as part of preparatory operations for retaking Mosul, have liberated Qiyyara town, the Syrian Democratic Forces have taken Manbij and Turkish backed opposition forces have taken Jarablus and Al Rai, effectively denying Daesh their last border crossings into Turkey" Fallon said.
Fallon made those comments at the House of Commons, while answering a question about his assessment of the progress made in the campaign to counter Daesh.
