The meeting of the National Security Advisors of the BRICS countries will be held in New Delhi on September 14 and 15. The meeting will be chaired by Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, and will be attended by the National Security Advisors of Russia, Brazil, China and South Africa.
The National Security Advisors of India and Russia will also hold bilateral talks on the sidelines of the BRICS Security Advisors meeting. There will be a discussion regarding the strengthening of the cooperation between India and Russia in terms of the defense, civil nuclear energy and space sectors.
The two security advisors are also likely to discuss the emerging geo-political situation in the Middle East and Afghanistan.
Indian Security Advisor Ajit Doval will also have a meeting with his Chinese counterpart Yang Jiechi on the sidelines of the meeting and is likely to discuss the South China Sea and the border issue. Recently China seems to be appreciative of India’s stand on the South China Sea issue. During the meeting, India will put stress on its earlier stance that peace and tranquility along the India-China border is essential to maintaining cordial relations between the two countries.
