MOSCOW(Sputnik) — The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia welcomed the Syria ceasefire agreement, a Saudi Foreign Ministry statement said Tuesday as quoted by a state news agency.
"Saudi Arabia follows with interest the beginning of truce in Syria and welcomes the ceasefire agreement," Saudi Foreign Ministry's statement said.
The cessation of hostilities in Syria entered into force on Monday, as agreed by Russia and the United States. If the ceasefire holds for seven days, the United States and Russia will collaborate through a joint implementation center on distinguishing between terrorists and opposition forces.
