MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The proposed free-trade Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) between the European Union and Canada is "the most progressive" deal the bloc has ever concluded, Jean-Claude Juncker, the president of the European Commission, said on Wednesday.
"I am very much behind the trade agreement with Canada. It is the most progressive, the best trade agreement we have ever entered into," Juncker said in the annual State of the Union speech.

The European Commission claims that CETA is aimed at removing customs duties, ending limitations in access to public contracts, broadening services market and helping prevent illegal copying of EU innovations and traditional products.
