WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The Ford Motor Company will move all small car production out of the United States into Mexico within the next three years, Ford CEO Mark Fields said on Wednesday.
"Over the next two to three years, we will have migrated all of our small car production to Mexico and out of the United States," Fields said as quoted by NBC News.
In April, Ford announced its decision to create a new assembly plant in Mexico’s state of San Luis Potosi.
According to the Detroit-based company, the opening of the Mexico facility will create 2,800 jobs by 2020.
