New Delhi (Sputnik) — Addressing a gathering of rural health workers in Bihar, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said “Turn off the lights and drink juice; you will feel like it's the same. Why ruin your life for a shot of alcohol or two." He appealed to the workers to make people aware of the damaging effect of alcohol on their health and social life.
The government of Bihar had put a blanket ban on the possession and consumption of liquor in the state since coming to power.
The Chief Minister said that the ban has yielded good results and he'd never felt this satisfied in his long career as a public servant. However, the twitterverse was not amused, and sarcastic reactions ensued.
