A devastating flood that hit North Korea's Hamgyong province killed hundreds of people, while many more are considered missing, South Korean Yonhap news agency reported Wednesday.

Record Floods Kill Hundreds, Leave Thousands Without Shelter in North Korea
MOSCOW (Sputnik) —More than 68,000 people were left without shelter, livelihoods, clean water and food in Hamgyong.

Up to 11,600 buildings were destroyed, 160 road sections and more than 60 bridges were damaged, the media outlet added.

Heavy rains in the country's northern province were triggered by typhoon Lionrock on August 29.
