MOSCOW (Sputnik) — A total of five coalition airstrikes killed six Islamic State (ISIL or Daesh) militants in northern Syria near Yahmul, Kafr Ghan and Jakka, Turkish media reported on Wednesday, citing country's General Staff.
Along with killing militants, air strikes managed to destroy four mortar positions, Anadolu news agency reported.
On August 24, Turkish forces, backed by US-led coalition aircraft, began a military operation dubbed Euphrates Shield to clear Jarabulus and the surrounding area of Daesh, outlawed in Russia and many other countries worldwide.
