KIEV (Sputnik) — "Going back to security issues, I would like to say that next week we will witness a crucial stage, that will simultaneously give us both consolidation of these achievements and certain hope, namely, for conduction of the aforementioned [Normandy Format] top-level summit. Signing and implementation of the agreement on troops withdrawals in three areas have been mentioned. I will not go into details of the agreement but I will highlight that we expect and hope for all the parties to make the necessary efforts," Jean-Marc Ayrault said at a joint press conference with his German and Ukrainian counterparts in Kiev.
Ayrault and German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier arrived in Kiev on Wednesday to hold a meeting with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko on implementation of Minsk agreement and guarantying ceasefire observance.
On Tuesday, the leaders of eastern Ukraine's self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) and Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR) scheduled the launch of the unilateral ceasefire on September 15.
